The Brief
Our client's brief emphasized that "Warren has suffered from a lack of permanent population over the years." They aim to attract young residents who can revitalize the city by developing a central district filled with industry and a new cultural identity. The client also wants to enhance the city's charm through publicity and advertising while maintaining its original cultural uniqueness. These objectives shaped our design focus: How can we make Warren look more appealing and livable to young people?
The Process
A site visit was conducted by the Graphic Design senior class in the spring 2024. As a class, we were given a tour of Warren County by local members of the community.
By visiting Warren County, we delved into the town's rich history. Our journey took us through culturally significant landmarks, including the historical society, town hall, and Struthers Library Theater (built in 1883), each embodying the town's ornate architecture and unique heritage. These sites offered a glimpse into the evolution of Warren's identity throughout the 20th century, highlighting the stories and craftsmanship that have shaped the community over time. Each building was a testament to the town's resilience and creativity, revealing layers of history that continue to influence the spirit of Warren today. The Site Visit was an integral aspect of our research for this project and allowed us to represent the town and those who live there

The Warren County project is centered on celebrating the inclusive and diverse heritage shared by its people. Each town within the county retains its unique character and story, which influenced our branding focus: uniting residents by honoring their collective heritage. We rooted our design in local architectural motifs and natural colors, creating a visual language that highlights the diverse cultural identities of Warren County's districts while fostering a sense of connection among residents. By blending historical culture with modular modern elements, our design enhances the county's urban character, instills pride within the community, and attracts new residents.
